Regulations are Available for Metzeler Melville Hare and Hound 19th February
The regulations and entry forms are now available for the Metzeler Melville SACU Scottish Hare and Hound Championship at Lochhouses Farm near Dunbar on the 19th February. The event generally goes ahead thanks to the sandy nature of the course although last year the event was cancelled due to the heavy snow. Hopefully there will not be a repeat this year as it can rain on the Saturday and the race will still run on Sunday.
The three hour course is laid out to make it enjoyable for riders of all abilities with all the Enduro Classes, Expert, Clubman, Clubman B, Over 40 and Sportsmen. The course including the motocross track plus an additional field and wood takes about 12 minutes a lap for the Experts. There is a separate Motocross class that runs for two hours within the main race but does not count towards the Championship as the riders are routed away from the woods.
This is an excellent event for novices and new riders to the sport. If this is your first Hare and Hound you can enter the 2 hour Motocross B Class that sticks to the motocross track or you can ride for the three hours in the Sportsman class including the woods. You can enter other classes depending on your ability and any senior member of the Melville Motor Club would be happy to give you advice.
Entries for this event are available online at www.entrycentral.com
If you are unable to enter online contact Graeme Chalmers at graeme1@gmx.com or text 07506 166906 with your name and he will get back to you.
